Places of Worship are not meant for acts of violence!
The trend of violence against Houses of Worship is growing. Tragedies such as those recently seen in Pittsburgh, New Zealand and other parts of the world are increasing in lethality. Religious Institutions must now consider elevated levels of security beyond the current methods employed. Analytics and Soft Target Hardening practices need to be part of the everyday routine in order to deter these acts of violence from occurring.
How do you deter acts of violence?
A House of Worship is a place for peace, prayer and acceptance, not violence. But unfortunately violence is on the increase and Religious Institutions must consider new approaches to protecting their House of Worship. Hundreds of people come together to pray and worship in peace, but for those individuals who are filled with hate, all they see is a moment to attack.
What is your security posture? Are you aware of the surroundings? What current practices are you using as methods of deterrence? Which Active Assailant Survival Plan do you use? There are so many questions that need to be addressed and even more options that need to be considered. Having an unbiased opinion to help navigate this process can be very beneficial.
